What wig accessories to purchase?

Hair needs care! Whether it’s your own, or alternative hair (a wig!) you need to take care of your hair! Enough poetry.

Getting the longest life from your alternative hair gives you the most value for your investment. You can always use the major beauty supply stores (like Sally’s) to purchase wig-care products, locally. Once you purchase a wig from e-Wigs we will always provide free shipping for all your wig accessories. (but please order at least two, or more, items!)

Here are some opinions about what wig accessories you need and, maybe …. don’t need:

Shampoo needs to be mild, but you can use a baby shampoo or Woolite to wash your wig.

Most combs, picks and brushes are available anywhere. It’s best to gently use wide tooth combs for alternative hair.

Wig caps, which hold back your own hair, can be convenient, but most women do not use them. And they become very uncomfortable in warm weather. We recommend fishnet caps.

Conditioner is more important for wigs – our conditioner’s are specifically designed for synthetic hair, and the conditioner includes a de-tangler – this is a required care item to get the most longevity from your wig.

Wig Stand (wire) – best to dry wigs after washing because air can circulate from below, so your wig dries quicker – also good for wig storage.

Wig Styling Kit – good for long wig styles because it allows you to work on your hairpiece while it is off your head and secure. You can comb out snarls gently, and work on styling modifications, if that is appropriate for your piece.
