How can I determine my wig size?
SIZING WIGS
The basic size measurement to fit wigs is the circumference of the head.
To measure your head, use a flexible tape measure and start at the top/center of the head at the hairline; go back just above the ear, around the nape of the neck, back up above the other ear to the center of the forehead.
This measurement simulates the hatband of a baseball cap.
Please note that the actual dimensions for the cap sizes may vary slightly by brand.
Wigs can be adjusted using draw or Velcro tabs at the back. Some wig cap constructions also have tabs just in front of the ears to keep the wig close to your face.
Wigs are available in 6 sizes. You can select specific wig sizes in the Nav under WIGS - Wigs By Cap Size except for Average and Average-Large. 90% of the wig styles found on ElegantWigs have an average cap size. If you are interested in an Average-Large cap style, type in Average-Large in our search bar and all available styles will show.
Ultra Petite: 19"- 20"
Petite: 20"- 21"
Petite-Average: 21.25 - 21.75"
Average: 21"- 22"
Average-Large: 22" - 23"
Large: 23" - 24"
NOTE: 90% of all women wear average size wigs.
Please be aware that each wig style does not come in all cap sizes.
On ElegantWigs, styles with multiple cap sizes are listed right after each other. For Petite and Large cap sizes we will name the style with "Large" after the name to designate that product is available in a large cap.
