Today is March 8th, International Women’s Day! Maybe you have a question mark above your head, I didn’t know this was a celebrated day…or maybe you saw google’s image and looked it up!
March 8th commemorates the struggle and the rights protests led by female workers dating back to before the 1900s. The Socialist Party of America began this movement and quickly it spread to parts of Europe. In August 1910 an International 
Women’s Conference was organized (100 women from 17 different countries) to strategise and agree on a plan to promote equal rights for women. In 1911 over one million people from Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland came together for this amazing conference.
In a modern context March 8th draw attention and highlights to women’s initiatives and women’s groups across the world.
